Broker Requirements

Carriers must meet the following authority and insurance requirements.

Insurance Requirements
  • Minimum $100,000 cargo coverage
  • Minimum $1,000,000 auto coverage
  • Insurer rated A- or better on A.M. Best
Other Authority Requirements
  • Safety rating must be Satisfactory or None.
  • Active operating authority required.
  • All carriers must hold appropriate federal, state, or provincial authority.
  • Must be financially stable.

Documents Needed for Carrier Setup

Please have the following documents ready. All documents must be complete, current, and legible.

W9

Must be complete and accurate.

COI (Certificate of Insurance)
  • Coverage lines must be active.
  • The expiration date must be after today.
  • If using an ACORD form, an insurance contact should appear in the top right.
COA (Certificate of Authority)
  • Many brokers require you to upload this.
  • Have your authority age and interstate/intrastate status ready.
NOA (Notice of Assignment)
  • Must show an effective date.
  • Must include payee bank information — your factoring company if you use one, or your own company bank details.
Equipment List
  • Number of tractors.
  • Number of trailers, with the type and size of each.

Logistics Dynamics runs carrier onboarding through MyCarrierPackets, Assure Assist's digital platform that moves the carrier packet online. It's a common compliance solution for mid-sized freight brokerages.

MyCarrierPackets gives carriers one universal login that works across all brokers who use it, though each broker's onboarding has its own URL. Most MyCarrierPackets setups are started with an invitation code you receive from the broker.

Once your W-9 and insurance are on file with MyCarrierPackets, that same information — along with any profile details you've already entered — carries over to your other MyCarrierPackets setups.
