Trust & Safety / Fraud Prevention
Verification badges, reputation, hiding companies, and fraud prevention.
How does The Cargo Exchange prevent fraud?
Fraud prevention is built into the platform from the start. Every company is verified against FMCSA records before they can post or book, and our team reviews each account. We run automated checks at signup and flag suspicious activity, so fake brokers and fraudulent loads are stopped at the door rather than cleaned up after the fact.
What do the verification badges mean?
A verified badge means the company passed our FMCSA verification and review. It tells you the company's authority was confirmed against federal records — so you know who you're dealing with.
How does company reputation work?
Reputation is built automatically from real activity on the platform — completed bookings, on-time deliveries, cancellations, and how responsive a company is. We don't use fake reviews; the badges and metrics reflect genuine track record. Newer companies honestly show they're still building reputation rather than displaying misleading scores.
Can I avoid brokers I don't want to work with?
Yes. You can hide a company, and their loads won't appear anywhere for you — the board, search, discovery, or notifications. It's private; the other company isn't told.
What should I do if I see something suspicious?
If a load or company seems off, contact support. Keeping the platform trustworthy is a shared effort, and we take reports seriously.
